My Blog
Welcome to my blog about information systems. I'm going to focus on code, web development, programming, and the cloud.

Even though computers have become more complex over the years, they are still fundamentally the same.
I recently read an excellent book about the inner workings of computers. Although this book was written in the year 2000, it is still very relevant today.
The book begins with a short history lesson about the various forms of code and communication before computers, followed by a methodic description of logic gates, circuits, and many other components of modern computers.
Topics include:- Braille and Binary Codes
- Telegraphs and Relays
- Our Ten Digits
- Logic and Switches
- Memory
- Microprocessors
- Operating Systems
- Languages
You don't have to be an electrical engineer or programmer to understand this book. The author, Charles Petzold, has done a great job of keeping the pace comfortable--especially in the first half of the book. You can find it on Amazon.
